What we collect, and what we don’t.

We collect what we need to send you a gecko. No analytics, no advertising trackers, and we never see your card details.

The short version

We collect what we need to send you a gecko and nothing else. We do not run analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies on this site. We never see your card number. We do not sell or share your data.

The rest of this page explains that in detail.

What we collect

When you place an order, you give us:

  • Your full name and email address — required, so we can contact you and confirm the order.
  • Your phone number — optional, but it is how we schedule your shipment fastest.
  • Your shipping address: street, city, state and ZIP code.

We also store the amount of the order, the payment method, and a payment reference from Stripe or PayPal that lets us match your payment to your order.

If you subscribe to the mailing list, we receive your email address. If you write to us by email or call us, we have whatever you choose to tell us.

What we do not collect

We never receive or store your card number, expiry date or security code. Payment details are entered on Stripe’s or PayPal’s own systems and never reach our servers.

This site runs no analytics platform, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker. We do not build a profile of you, and we cannot tell you which pages an individual visitor viewed, because we do not record it.

The only cookie this site sets is a session cookie for staff logging into the admin panel. If you are a customer, you never receive it.

Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser (localStorage) and stays on your device. It is not sent to us until you check out.

Why we use it

To fulfil your order: to contact you within 24 business hours to schedule the shipment, to pack and address the parcel, and to answer questions about the animal afterwards.

To keep our own records of sales, as any business must.

To send you the mailing list, if and only if you asked for it.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who else processes it

We rely on a small number of service providers. Each one only receives what it needs:

  • Stripe and PayPal — payment processing. They receive your payment details and order amount; each has its own privacy policy.
  • Vercel — hosting. Our site and database requests run on their infrastructure.
  • Cloudinary — image hosting for the photographs of our animals. No customer data.
  • Our email provider — used to send you order confirmations and to receive your messages.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and warranty purposes, and for as long as applicable law requires.

If you ask us to delete your data and we are not legally required to retain it, we will.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask for a copy of it. Depending on where you live, you may have these rights under law; we will honour them regardless.

Write to support@geckomonster.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify who you are before acting on a request about someone’s personal data.

You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by replying to any message and asking.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Purchases must be made by an adult.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data — for example, if we ever add analytics — we will update this page and change the date shown alongside it.

Questions about any of this: support@geckomonster.com or +1 (786) 395-3697. We are based in Miami, Florida, USA.

Questions about this policy?

Ask before you buy — we would rather answer a question than resolve a misunderstanding.
